Wellness Night! February 25th - Social Media and Screen Time with NYU Langone Asst. Prof. Angelinda Baroni

Join us for Wellness Night at Stuyvesant in collaboration with the Parent’s Association! Is healthy media use possible? What does that look like? Teenagers and US college students use electronic devices for 4 hours per day on average. Electronic device overuse is associated with an increased risk of depressive and anxiety symptoms and insufficient sleep. We will discuss strategies to help adolescents to have a more balanced relationship with their phones and computers and ideally sleep longer.
Argelinda Baroni, an Assistant Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU Langone, who is board certified in child, adolescent, adult psychiatry and sleep medicine and teaches two large undergraduate courses at NYU, one on sleep and one on internet overuse, will speak to families about screen time and media use.
