Water Testing Follow Up Letter on Stuyvesant Lead Testing - May 2019

Principal Contreras shares with families a letter from the Water Testing Team of the DOE. This was a follow up regarding the school’s operational water fixtures being tested for the presence of lead in 2019.

CLICK HERE to find the letter. The letter includes a detailed notice and Q&A regarding the specific number of lead elevations and the locations of the associated fixtures within the school building.  Complete test results are posted on the DOE website at https://www.schools.nyc.gov/schools/M475. Click “Data and Reports” and look for the “Facilities” heading.

Families can also visit https://www.schools.nyc.gov/about-us/reports/water-safety to learn more about the robust protocol used to ensure the safety of drinking water in each and every school.  We will be kept apprised of the remediation work in the building.  In the interim, the Deputy Director of Facilities remains available to answer your questions. They reassure families and staff that there is no cause for concern.
