<p><strong>Summer Discovery</strong> at Stuyvesant has begun. We hosted parents of our 94 students in the <strong>Discovery Program</strong> on July 1<sup>st</sup> for a <strong>Meet the Teacher Event and Breakfast with the Principal</strong>. Parents met their students’ teachers, <strong>Mr. Peng, Mr</strong>. <strong>Ferenz </strong>and <strong>Ms. Prabhu</strong> and then in Breakfast with the Principal, <strong>Ms. Ingram</strong> organized small group activity discussions on typical high school and Stuy challenges. We then held a group discussion in the library with <strong>Principal Contreras</strong>, Assistant Principals <strong>Mr. Grossman</strong> and <strong>Mr. Smith</strong>, and Director of Family Engagement, <strong>Ms. Ingram.</strong> Students, <strong>Joanna Zheng, Jasmine Xiao, Zoya Bukhari </strong>and<strong> Jingwei</strong> <strong>Liu </strong>offered their experiences with parents. An open forum Q&A was also held. The students had a special presentation at the same time with Assistant Principal, <strong>Ms. Pedrick</strong>, School Counselor, <strong>Ms. Rhiman</strong> and SPARK Counselor <strong>Mr. Colon</strong> and then first day of classes were held.</p>
