<p>Students in all grades are invited to participate in a contest to create an original cover for a holiday card that best represents the holiday season. This is our 9th year at Stuyvesant with this wonderful tradition! The winning designs will be used for Stuy's official holiday card!</p><p><br/>The judges will be looking for:</p><ul><li>creativity and originality<br/></li><li>quality of artwork<br/></li><li>interpretation of the subject matter/theme<br/></li></ul><p>The following are the rules for the contest:</p><ul><li>Only one piece of artwork per student may be submitted.<br/></li><li>Artwork must be completed by one student only. Group participation for one piece of artwork is not permitted.<br/></li><li>Artwork must incorporate the contest’s theme – a winter holiday and/or the winter season.<br/></li><li>Artwork must be a holiday card cover measuring up to 8” x 8” (including framing, if used).<br/></li><li>Artwork may be submitted framed or unframed.<br/></li><li>Artwork must be original content created by the contest participant.<br/></li><li>Artwork may consist of one or multiple mediums -- photography, graphic design, watercolor, oil paint, acrylic paint, charcoal, textiles, pencil, pen and ink.<br/></li><li>Artwork can be still life, portrait, abstract, landscape, etc.<br/></li><li>Artwork may be multi-dimensional but must be flat on one side for hanging.<br/></li><li>Art design must not contain any profanity.<br/></li><li>Art design must not contain any religious content.<br/></li><li>Winners will be notified by email and two or more entries will be selected by the principal to use as the school's holiday card.<br/></li><li>Be creative!</li></ul><p>Please send me a digital version of your holiday card by email to: SThomas24@schools.nyc.gov no later than Monday, 12/13 at 3:35 pm.</p>
