A little PTC trivia: Each Fall, well over 2,000 parents attend; and our faculty holds approximately 9,000 individual conferences with parents! For several years, we’ve provided one-to-one interpreters from our partnership with NYU and Columbia University’s International Schools. This week, 132 parents benefited from 113 translators. ARISTA coordinated 370 student volunteers comprised of members of their Honor Society as well as Key Club, and Red Cross and other students, who assisted teachers over the two-days. Additionally, over 100 parents observed classes on Friday. This Fall, with the use of Talos, 4595 registered parents of Stuyvesant’s 6017 received report cards emailed directly to them in their home language to refer to at conferences for more meaningful conversations with teachers. Congratulations to Assistant Principal of Organization, Dr. Gary Haber for a successful and smooth administration of Parent Teacher Conference week and gratitude to the Technology Department for their support as well as to the large army of helpers involved.
All of Stuyvesant’s staff whole-heartedly thanks the Stuyvesant Parent’s Association and their volunteers for their hard work in hosting the Fall Faculty Reception Thursday! The staff was very appreciative for all the delicious food, desserts, and honored by your efforts. Each year gets better and better! Many thanks to the Stuyvesant Jazz band for their musical accompaniment to dinner! Executive Board member, Andrew Cribb, always on hand to take amazing photos, has a photo gallery you may view HERE.
