Stuyvesant Students who presented posters at the International Neuropsychological Society (INS)

Mr. Paul Lewis of Harvard College relayed that the following as a research project mentor for Heewon Choi, Sofia Lawrence, and Tommy Li . They participated in the Medicine and Research Summer Program in 2023 at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons through the Global Health Organization (GHO) and the International Young Researchers’ Conference (IYRC). They also recently gave a poster presentation at the International Neuropsychological Society (INS), which took place from February 14-17.

INS is an annual congregation of thousands of neuroscientists, psychologists, and neuropsychologists from across the country, and I was proud to see Heewon, Sofia, and Tommy presenting their research projects next to individuals currently pursuing a PhD. Over the summer in IYRC, they put together a research project where they had opportunities for mentorship and guidance at Columbia. They were all receptive to feedback when constructing the paper and abstract, and they would ask astute questions.

Heewon: Salivary Biomarkers and Stress: A Systematic Review

Sofia: The Relationship Between Media and Hyperactivity/ADHD in Children: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Tommy: Exploring the Interplay Between Sleep Patterns, Hormones, and Cortisol: Insights from Mice and Human Studies

We're so proud of our students and their impressive talent! See a full size photo collage here.
