Congratulations to the mathematical modeling team of Ryan Park, Ethan Sharma, and Ethan Sie, for earning an “Outstanding” designation and the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) award for their submission to the 2025 Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM)! Their mathematical model projecting medal counts in the 2028 Olympic games was one of 18 to be judged “Outstanding” out of over 12,000 entries from around the world! In addition, they were one of only three teams out of 20,000 to be selected by the Mathematical Association of America for the MAA Award.
This first for Stuyvesant’s mathematical modelers is even more impressive given that nearly all of the 20,000 MCM entries worldwide were from college modeling teams! To learn more about mathematical modeling at Stuyvesant, see Mr. Honner in the mathematics department.
