Stuy students present at the Annual NY Protein Model Symposium!

Stuy Proteomics Club presented their research and 3D printed models of Ring Finger Protein 213 at the 1st Annual NY Protein Model Symposium hosted by The Laufer Center at Stony Brook University. Yvette Shteynfeld, Zariya Kardar, Hayley Geoghegan, Kelsey Pan, Cathy Guan, and Abigail Chung did an exceptional job on their presentation. Eight students from Ms. Quenzer’s AP Biology class who excelled on their protein projects were invited to this event. Students were treated with a lecture from Professor Ken Dill, Director of Laufer Center, learned the advanced computational modeling research in drug development from Prof. Carlos Simmerling’s lab, engaged in discussions with professors, graduate students, and students from two other high schools during the poster session, learned about the admission requirements of SBU from the admission officer, and enjoyed lunch provided by SBU. A special thank you to all the parents for driving or chaperoning with our students. Stuy Proteomics Club would like to give a big shout-out to Mr. Griffith for printing out the amazing 3D model of RFP-213, and Dr. Tu's advice on the project.
