Stuy students attend the Regeneron STS Public Day in DC

Thirty-two students from Dr. Tu’s Sophomore and Junior Research and Mr. Papagayo’s Molecular Genetics attended the Regeneron Science Talent Search (STS) Public Day in Washington, DC, on March 9. Students met with the Top 40 Finalists, learned about their award-winning projects, exchanged information with the finalists, and made new friends. Our students are inspired by their passion, depth of knowledge, and the time and effort the finalists devoted to their research projects. This one-of-a-kind experience will help our students reshape their research path to meet national standards. Many new ideas were generated on our bus ride home! We are grateful for the funding provided by the Stuyvesant Alumni Association and our three parent chaperones (of Henry Woodcock, Sabrina Gao, and Sarah Mo) to make this day trip possible.
