Ms. Marissa Maggio shares that the first Zoom Meeting of the Blue Ambassador Program took place this week. Students from the team attended a luncheon this weekend and will attend a bike ride/beach clean up next weekend as the first events of the program! More details and images to come soon! This program was made possible by Stuy '72 Henk Rogers in collaboration with the Alumni Association.
The Blue Planet Global Ambassador Program (BPGA) was created starting on Palau to honor and empower young people from the ages of 16 to 30. Through the Global Ambassador Program, we are building a network of youth advocates dedicated to engaging in global activism to make their communities and the world as a whole, a better place, specifically those willing to join us in our mission to help every island nation and countries across the globe achieve a mandate of 100% renewable energy by 2045. The Global Ambassador program places specific emphasis on the advancement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 7, SDG 13, SDG 14, and SDG 17. Global Ambassadors will participate in periodic meetings and updates with Blue Planet Alliance leaders. In addition, we are in the process of developing a United Nations Blue Planet Global Ambassador Summit in conjunction with the annual UN Conference of the Parties (COP), to be held this year in November in Egypt.
