Stuy receives donated GAMES!

With the new State law prohibiting internet-enabled devices during the school day, Stuy is adjusting to a new distraction-free learning environment in many positive ways! Students have been doing more reading and chatting in hallways during free periods, and engaging with each other by coloring, doodling, working on their homework on traditional paper, and playing lots of fun games including chess, Uno, cards and more! The library has introduced different activities each week for students to do crafts, build puzzles and interact as well! Our Counseling department has many coloring sheets as well as supporting a crochet club! This week, we were thrilled to receive 10 new chess sets donated through a collaboration with senior, Jed Sloan with "the gift of chess" organization as well as other educational games coordinated by Stuy parent, Andrew Shih! Students will be able to enjoy playing these games in the library, the counseling office, and other areas of the building! Many thanks to Jed and Mr. Shih for coordinating these donations!
