Stuy & PA Mosaic Committee host Annual Virtual Breakfast

Before the mid-winter recess, Stuyvesant High School in collaboration with the Mosaic Outreach Committee of th Parent's Association hosted an annual virtual event in honor of Black History Month. There was a guest speaker, Venus Nnadi who graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 2018 and is currently a JD/MBA student at the University of Pennsylvania, where she is pursuing her law degree at Penn Carey Law School and her MBA at the Wharton School. Venus graduated from Harvard College in 2022, where she studied Social Studies and African American Studies, with a focus field on Racial Inequality in American Education, and wrote her senior thesis on the experiences of Black students in NYC high schools. Through her thesis research, she interviewed Black graduates from several high schools, including Stuy, documenting how they navigated the unique academic and socioemotional challenges Black students face in their school environments. Between college and graduate school, Venus worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company. During this time, she also founded Gateway, a nonprofit that provides free SHSAT preparation and mentorship to underserved students in Southeast Queens.

During our Mosaic Parent virtual breakfast, Venus shared strategies, resources, and answered questions for the BIPOC community.
