Last Friday, April 25th Stuyvesant's Indian Culture Club hosted a South Asian Literature event in the library with guest speaker Nandana Dev Sen, an acclaimed Indian actress, activist, and writer. The event featured readings of Sen's translations of Bengali poems and a discussion on the importance of translating poems, foundational South Asian writers, and how poetry can be a powerful tool for social change. It was an incredible experience to learn literature from a person who has had such a diverse career and a variety of cultural, artistic experiences.
