On May 18, 2024, Stuyvesant hosted the 2nd annual BIPOC Youth Summit in collaboration with other specialized high schools, their alumni associations and parent associations as well as our DEI committee and Mosaic Parent Outreach group of the PA. The full day event included workshops on why "Mattering Matters", understanding race-based traumatic stress and creating a supportive community for parents and theier students at specialized high schools. There were special guest speakers featuring Tracyavon Ford, LCSW-R; Roderick L. Carey, PhD from University of Delaware; Regne Roy, President and Founder of the Queen Geniuses Inc; Tara Williams, School Counselor; and Quilan "Cue" Arnold (MFA), Founder and CEO of the kinetic storytelling business, OnCUE Chronicles LLC. The many students from Stuy and other specialized high schools along with families enjoyed an amazing day!
