On March 22, Stuyvesant sophomores Muna Faruqi, Stacie Au, Qiuhan Lin, and Alyssa Kang attended the UN Water Conference at the UN headquarters on behalf of Blue Planet Alliance as their Global Youth Ambassadors. Here, they attended a variety of events on topics relevant to some of the most pressing issues of our waters and oceans- such as ocean literacy, education, and policy. Muna participated in a youth panel featuring youth leaders in ocean sustainability, and by the end of these three days, ambassadors not only formed new connections with leaders all around the world, but learned lots about our waters. They are excited to use their knowledge to hopefully see change within their own communities like the Stuyvesant community, and are eager to get started! Go UN Ocean Decade!
