Last week, Stuyvesant honored Hispanic Heritage Month with our annual celebration in the cafeteria with students, parents, staff and alumni! The keynote speaker was founder of Stuy Aspira, Erik Paulino (Stuy '89), senior advisor of intergovernmental and legislative affairs for the NYC Department of Social Services. We also hosted special guest speaker, Luz Miranda-Crespo, finance manager for Lin-Manuel Miranda. (Stuy '91). Special presentations were given by Ms. Brenda Garcia and Ms. Roanny Genao from Stuy's faculty as well as student leaders of Aspira, Madeline Goodwin, Lućia Robinovich and Kassandra Sinchi. Performances were amazing from the Grupo Atl-Tlachinolli featuring Aztec dance and Lotus Music & Dance featuring Flamenco dance. Shout out to Stuy's Jazz Band for providing live music through dinner. Many thanks to the wonderful turnout of attendees and the hard work on the part of our Parent's Association's Mosaic Outreach Group, our Alumni Association, Stuy Aspira, and Ms. Brandan and all our staff members who pitched in to make this a wonderful occasion.
