The Student Union runs the extracurricular activities at Stuyvesant under faculty advisement. Several years ago, they created StuyActivities, a site that assists students and faculty with the process of browsing, joining, creating, and managing activities.
We encourage you to go to www.StuyActivities.org to login to your account and begin browsing, joining, and creating your own clubs.
Over the next few weeks, clubs & pubs continuing from last year (as well as new clubs) will submit new charters (charters are club applications) and begin to appear in the Catalog. We encourage you to use the filters on the Catalog to find clubs that interest you. However, we recommend that you wait until after the Clubs & Pubs Fair before requesting to join a club, that way you can sort through the abundance of clubs (over 200!) before making any final decisions.
At the start of every year, the Student Union hosts a Clubs & Pubs Fair at which club leaders are able to showcase their activity to prospective members. This year the Clubs & Pubs Fair will be adapted to a virtual platform. Stay tuned for more information on how to attend! After the Fair, many clubs will host interest meetings, which are opportunities for you to learn more about them before joining.
By early October, if you haven’t found a club that you would like to join and would like to start your own club, you can do so by clicking “Create New Activity” on StuyActivities. This will direct you to the chartering form, which you must fill out and have approved by the SU in order to begin operating as a Club. The form will ask for information such as a mission statement, other club leaders, and a faculty advisor. Before chartering, be sure to read over the rules & regulations that every club must abide by. Our Clubs & Pubs department will be reviewing and approving charters on a rolling basis throughout the year. Please give ~2 weeks for your charter to be reviewed after submission.
