Stuyvesant Staff members are invited to the 3rd Equity Book Talk of the school year, presented by the Equity Book Club and the DEI Committee. Please join us from 4:00-5:30 PM on Thursday, February 25th to discuss the role of institutional racism in the NYC School system. Please register for the event here or at the link.
We will be referring to the New York Times Magazine article "Choosing a School for My Daughter in a Segregated City" by Nikole Hannah-Jones and a short video about the history of redlining created by the NPR Code Switch podcast. (Content Warning: This video begins with a clip of Chris Rock that contains one instance of explicit language.)
Please note: ALL faculty, staff and admins are welcome to participate, and having read the article or watched the video is NOT a prerequisite.
