The World Languages Department's Spanish team will be hosting its 47th annual Spanish Honor Society chapter's induction ceremony this upcoming Thursday, the 14th of December at 4:15 in the afternoon in our cafeteria. Parents of students being inducted are invited to join.
31 students will be inducted into our chapter, Severo Ochoa to celebrate and honor their journey and accomplishments as an exemplary group of Spanish scholars. These students are currently enrolled in Sra. Ambía's Advanced Placement Spanish Language and Culture class. After the traditional initiation rituals, this year's cohort of inductees will enjoy and partake in an array of activities some of which include a Chilean folk dance performance, live music by our very own Stuy jazz band and a speech by Salvadoran anthropologist, journalist and writer Carmen Molina-Tamacas who is our guest of honor. The festivities will end with a buffet of Latin dishes, some dancing, and a special raffle.
