SHIRO, Japanese Artist Paints Murals in Stuyvesant's Spin Studio!

Stuyvesant’s Spin Studio got a face lift this week! Street Artist, Shiro, painted murals and created a fun and amazing space in Room 154 for our PhysEd elective Spin Cycling Classes. Dr. Markova contributed Shiro’s bio for our Update this week. Shiro is a female graffiti artist from Japan. She expresses her own vision for life through her original characters. She is inspired by the strength and creativity of old-school hip-hop. Shiro loves traveling, painting, making friends and leaving footsteps of her existence all over the world. She has visited 17 countries so far. She has worked with the NBA, the Gap, W Hotel, and more. She also works as a nurse. Her experiences from the medical field changed her perspective in life and she wants to express her message through her artwork: “love life and live it to the max. We exist right now, right here!” (photos courtesy of Dr. Markova)
