<p><b>SENIORS</b> -Remember that Naviance is the tool through which we will submit required documents to most of the colleges and universities to which you&#x27;ll apply.   You can log in to your Naviance account via the link below. </p><p><a href="https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fstudent.naviance.com%2Fauth%2Ffclookup&amp;data=05%7C02%7Cringram3%40schools.nyc.gov%7C89788136d2b34e3f8eae08dccd9e2630%7C18492cb7ef45456185710c42e5f7ac07%7C0%7C0%7C638611326344343406%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=qmC35gJk%2FpzfUM2Rc8EbwLz%2BarB84iP8OJfLEv7B5nU%3D&amp;reserved=0">https://student.naviance.com/auth/fclookup</a></p><p>- Most of you will likely apply to colleges via the Common Application (<a href="http://www.commonapp.org/">www.commonapp.org</a>).   <b>You must match your Common App account to Naviance.</b> To do so, <b>follow the instructions in the “Common App Account Matching Quick Guide”</b> which you’ll find in the <b>College Office folder</b> of the <b>Document Resources</b> section of your<b>Naviance</b> account<b>.  You’ll find Document Resources</b> <b>under “About Me”.  While completing these steps</b> <b>make sure to select “I waive my right” in the FERPA Release Authorization form</b> <b>to avoid complications with your recommenders.</b></p><p>This is a simple task and you don’t need to be sure of your college plans yet. <b>But until you match, we will not be able to see where you are applying or send documents to colleges for you.</b></p><p>-Please make sure <b>you (the student) attend our in-person presentation on September 10 in Lecture Hall A</b> through your social studies class.</p><p>-<b>Senior parents should log in to Senior College Night on September 12 at 6:30pm</b>.</p><p>-Assign your teacher recommenders in Naviance (NOT IN COMMON APP!). <b>Follow the instructions entitled “Naviance Letters of Recommendation Quick Guide” in the “College Office” folder in the Document Resources section</b> of your Naviance account.  Also, remember to thank your teachers with a letter, card, or thoughtful email sometime this term!</p><p>-<b>Our college counselors will soon contact you to schedule individual appointments with seniors to check on your college plans.</b>  Please remember that we are not able to offer parent appointments in the senior year.  Parents can of course email us as needed throughout the year. <b>Students can also drop by our College Office for quick questions during the open q &amp; a periods;</b> 1st, 8th, 9th, 10th, and often right after 10th period.</p><p>-You DO NOT need to update your SSR survey for your school counselor’s rec letter; rec letters are not intended to list all of your extracurriculars.  You will list any summer activities in your applications.  But, if you have something <i>new and critical</i> to share with your school counselor, please use the SSR Survey Update form in Naviance and email your school counselor to let them know you have a brief update to share with them. If you plan on submitting an update, please do so by <b>September 16</b>.</p><p>-If you will be applying to colleges via <b>Questbridge,</b> or in the UK through the <b>UCAS</b> application (Oxford, Cambridge, etc.) please make sure to <b>follow the instructions that will soon be emailed to you by our college counselor Dr. Wilson.</b></p>
