SENIORS: Information for Sophie Davis applicants

SENIORS: Information for Sophie Davis applicants

Applicants to the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education program at The City College of New York should be aware of a few important steps.

1-Sophie applicants must complete both a general CUNY or Macaulay Honors College application that includes CCNY as one of the campus choices, AND a separate Sophie Davis application:

Admissions -- Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program at the CUNY School of Medicine | The City College of New York

2-The program’s admissions office requires applicants to create a CSOM VIP page, as this is how they most readily communicate with prospective students.  Create a CSOM VIP page at :

https://cunymed.askadmissions.net/emtinterestpage.aspx?ip=request

3-The program requires five (5) letters of recommendation.  One must come from a science teacher, one from a guidance counselor, and one from someone outside of Stuyvesant.  Please note that your teachers will not automatically submit their letters to Sophie Davis.  If you would like a teacher (s) to send their rec to Sophie Davis, email them directly and ask them to please do so.  They should email their letters to:  Sdcsom@med.cuny.edu

SEND YOUR EMAIL REQUEST FOR ANY AND ALL RECOMMENDATIONS NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 18.

All recommendations must be submitted on or before December 30.  There is no grace period.

4- ACT and SAT scores are now optional, so they will be considered in the admissions process if submitted. Students who prefer to submit scores should download a copy of their score report from the testing website and email it to: Sdcsom@med.cuny.edu  . Also, request an official copy to be sent from the testing agency to CUNY UAPC (2950).

4-Lastly, make sure to MANUALLY list the Sophie Davis program in your "colleges I'm applying to" list in Naviance by December 18 if you haven't already. The College Office will then email your signed transcript and guidance counselor letter before from the holiday break.

Let your assigned college counselor know if you need assistance!
