Question of the Week 2/3/2020

What is an NYC Schools Account?

Many requests came in for NYC Schools accounts on mystudent.nyc last week as students await final Fall Term report cards.

Parents and guardians may create a NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) https://mystudent.nyc/, which provides a way of accessing key information about your child’s progress. The information available includes your child’s state test scores, grades, attendance or bus schedule

The DOE does not provide students with these accounts. With your NYC Schools account, you will be able to view your child's information in one of ten languages on a computer, phone or tablet. The accounts are only available to parents/guardians who are registered in the DOE system as the parent/guardian who resides with the child. Schools cannot override this.

To set up an account, an account creation code is needed. Obtain one by contacting Ms. Ingram at ringram3@schools.nyc.gov. Please include the parent full name, the student full name and OSIS number if available.

Please note:

These accounts sync with the DOE system called STARS that teachers use to enter grades. Although parents/guardians may see grades appear there as teachers enter them; the finalized grades are on the Report Card that will be distributed on Tuesday, February 4. Teachers may enter, check, and amend grades through Monday, February 3.
