PSAT 2025 Information!

Stuyvesant High School will administer the PSAT/NMSQT to Juniors (Grade 11) on Friday, October 10, 2025, and on Friday, October 17, 2025. Approximately half of the junior class have been scheduled for each testing date. Please note that we cannot accept requests for testing date preferences.

Students and families received room assignments on Friday, October 3, 2025. Please see the key information below:

  • School day PSAT/NMSQT is free for all juniors (Grade 11)
  • The PSAT/NMSQT is administered in a digital format; Stuyvesant High School will provide the necessary devices.
  • (Note: Personal devices will not be allowed for the school day PSAT/NMSQT)
  • Do not register for the school day PSAT/NMSQT with the College Board.
  • All 11th-grade students at Stuyvesant High School have been registered for the PSAT/NMSQT by the school administration.
  • Prior notification is not required if you do not wish to take the PSAT/NMSQT.
  • Following the PSAT/NMSQT administration on Fridays, 10/10 and 10/17, a special schedule will be in effect for students in all grades.

9th, 10th, and 12th graders do not report to school in the morning on Fridays, 10/10 and 10/17. Additionally, 11th graders who choose not to take the PSAT/NMSQT examination are not to report to school in the morning on Fridays, 10/10 and 10/17. Any junior who chooses not to sit for the in-school PSAT/NMSQT and those in grades 9, 10 and 12 will follow the abbreviated school day schedule that all non-test takers will follow on Friday, 10/10 and Friday, 10/17. Period attendance will be taken during the abbreviated school day schedule.

On Friday, 10/17, there will be a special Career Exploration event scheduled for all students. Schedules will be forthcoming.

Those juniors who sit for the exam may either leave the building for lunch or have lunch in the cafeteria from 12:00 pm to 12:50 pm.

PSAT/NMSQT Schedule for Test Takers on Fridays, 10/10 and 10/17

Instructions for test-takers:

Night Before

  • Get a good night’s rest.
  • Make sure you have a plan for your commute to school so you arrive on time. If you are using the subway.
  • Pack two No. 2 pencils, a pen, and a valid school ID.
  • Optional: You may pack a calculator (See Approved Calculators) along with extra batteries. The school will not supply calculators nor batteries. A calculator is built into the Bluebook application.
  • Optional: You may pack a computer mouse and a mousepad.

Day of Exam

  • Be in your assigned testing room by your appointed time. It is essential to arrive on time; students may not enter the exam room once the test has begun. Those assigned on 10/10 and 10/17 arrive at 7:45 am and must be seated in classrooms no later than 8:15am. (Breakfast will be available starting at 7:45 am.) NOTE: Those assigned to the afternoon session on Saturday, 10/11 should arrive at 12:00 noon and be in their assigned room no later than 12:15pm.
  • Cell phones and smart watches must be powered down and best placed in your pouch/bookbag at the front of the room. The College Board rules are that any student found in possession of a phone or smart watch during the test will have their exam invalidated. Any phone left powered on that rings during the test will have their exam invalidated. Any phone left powered on that rings or buzzes (even in an envelope on a teacher’s desk) can cause an exam to be invalidated)
  • Personal possessions must be placed at the front of the room; not under, in front of or behind a desk.
  • Nothing can be on your desk except: Two No. 2 pencils, a pen, a valid school ID, and optionally a calculator (see Approved Calculators), a computer mouse, and a computer mouse pad.
  • Students may bring snacks and water, which is to be kept under the desk and consumed outside the classroom during breaks only.
