<p>On March 30th, <strong>Mr. Contreras</strong> and <strong>Ms. Ingram</strong> attended a <strong>Mother’s Empowerment Workshop</strong> in Jackson Heights for the <strong>Bengali-speaking community</strong>. It was presented by <strong>Mrs. Nayeema Khan</strong>, Khan's Tutorial Chairperson and UN Goodwill Ambassador. <strong>We are planning to host parent workshop this Spring for Bengali-speaking parents of Stuyvesant High School</strong> at this location with the gracious support of the space provided by <strong>Dr. Ivan Khan</strong>, CEO & President of Khan's Tutorial. Last weekend’s workshop included a discussion of cross-cultural approaches to parenting and helping South Asian Immigrant Mothers navigate the NYC School System. The panel included <strong>Dr. Husna Siddique</strong>, Primary Pediatric Doctor at Brookdale Hospital, <strong>Ms. Wai Wah Chin</strong>, Alumna Stuyvesant PA Co-President & President of the Chinese American Citizens Citizen's Alliance, and <strong>Dr. Nurun Yusuf</strong>, Pediatrician & President of MAAWS, along with moderator, <strong>Mr. Kowshik Ahmed</strong>, Editor in Chief of The Weekly Bangalee. Mr. Contreras answered questions about the specialized high school process and courses in high school and held discussion with parents.
