NYC DOE releases the 2022-23 School Year Calendar

<p>The 2022–23 DOE school year calendar is now available.  The <a href="https://www.schools.nyc.gov/about-us/news/2022-2023-school-year-calendar/">parent-facing calendar flyer and translations</a> are available on the public website. A family letter and translated versions is available on the <a href="http://schools.nyc.gov/messagesforfamilies">Messages for Families</a> page.</p><p>Please note the following updates on the 2022-23 DOE school year calendar: </p><ul><li><b>Thursday, September 8, 2022</b> is the first day of school. </li><li><b>November 8, 2022, Election Day</b>, will be a non-attendance day. No in-person or remote instruction will be provided. </li><li>The DOE plans to shift all students and teachers to remote instruction in lieu of cancelling school when severe weather conditions or other emergency conditions make in-person services impracticable or unsafe;</li><li>The last day of the school shall be a regular day of instruction, shortened sessions are not permitted. Schools must adhere to the following guidelines:<ul><li>All students are required to attend school</li><li>Daily attendance must be taken, recorded and reported</li><li>Students are to receive instruction</li></ul></li></ul>
