This is a reminder that we will be conducting a soy milk taste test on November 19, 2026 and then will begin offering it on the lunch line. If you haven’t already, please let us know if your child is allergic to soy and remind your child not to participate in the soy milk pilot taste test. If your child has never had soy, it is possible that they could experience an allergic reaction. Most allergic reactions to soy are mild, but anaphylactic responses, while extremely rare, are possible. Mild reactions include itchy tongue or throat or upset belly, and most mild reactions only last for a few hours. Our nurse will be available to address any allergic responses. We are excited to participate in this soy milk pilot program because it offers an option for students who are allergic to dairy, lactose intolerant, or require or prefer nondairy milk for other reasons. For more information, here is a FAQ with details about the pilot program and allergies.
