Notice of Election & Call for PA Nominations for 2025-2026

Stuyvesant Parents’ Association Fall Elections for the 2025/26 academic year will be held during the first General Meeting on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 7:00pm. This will be a virtual meeting. 

Positions to be filled:

Fall elections are held to name the Freshman Parent Representative & Alternate to the School Leadership Team (SLT), and to add Members-at-Large for all classes to the PA Executive Board: 2 Senior Parent, 2 Junior Parent, 3 Sophomore Parents, and 4 Freshman Parents.

To run for office:

1. Fill out the nomination form online by 11:59pm September 9, 2025 to get on the ballot
2. Submit a candidate statement by September 12 through this online candidate form
3. Join the PA Fall Elections Zoom with your assigned candidate number, prepared to give a short statement of no more than 60 seconds, for the September 16, 2025 meeting. If you cannot attend the election meeting, you may have someone speak on your behalf.

Candidate eligibility and rules:

All parents and guardians of current Stuyvesant High School students are eligible to run for office, except those also employed by the DOE.

To ensure all candidates are given an equal opportunity, all election and candidate materials will be distributed/posted by the PA, without endorsement, after the close of nominations and at least 24-hours before the election. Per DOE rules, candidates may not individually solicit votes or distribute materials in support of their candidacy at the school or through PA/school websites, bulletin boards, newsletters, chat rooms, social media, and parent email lists.
