Nominations close on 9/14/2021 for Fall PA elections for Parent Reps!

PA Elections & Call for Nominations

The Stuyvesant Parents’ Association’s first meeting of the year is on September 21 (register HERE)! This online meeting will include the annual Fall Elections, to name a Freshman Parent Representative to the School Leadership Team (SLT), and add Members-at-Large for all classes to the PA Executive Board.

Nominations are now being accepted for the following open positions:

• 1 Senior Parent Member-at-Large
• 1 Junior Parent Member-at-Large
• 3 Sophomore Parent Members-at-Large
• 5 Freshman Parent Members-at-Large
• 1 Freshman Parent SLT Rep (runner-up will be Alternate)

The term of office for all positions is the 2021-22 academic year, commencing upon election through June 30, 2022.

All parents and guardians of current Stuyvesant High School students are encouraged to run for office, except those also employed by the school. Individuals may hold only one PA elected position, with the exception that individuals may hold any one of the seven officer positions and be an SLT Delegate.

Steps to Run for Office

1. Fill out the nominations form online by 11:59pm September 14, 2021
2. Email a short candidate statement/bio, ideally in English and Mandarin, to nominations@stuy-pa.org by September 16, 2021
3. Join the PA Fall Elections zoom, prepared to give a ≤ 45-second statement during the September 21, 2021 meeting. There will be an optional rehearsal event prior; you may have a representative participate if you are unable to attend the election meeting.
