Ms. Shi for her Mandarin Students designed an activity: Make a Vlog to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
Students took videos to record how their families/their friends/communities celebrated the Lunar New Year. For students who don’t celebrate the Lunar New Year, they can find some video clips and pictures online and edit them to make the video, so they can participate as well; for students who celebrate the Festival and speak Korean, Japanese or Cantonese, I told them just feel free to speak their first language in the video to showcase the diverse cultures, but they need to add an English caption, this way audience understand what was going on in the video.
