Ms. Sandler's APUSH students attend the Lincoln Book Prize at the Harvard Club

Social Studies teacher, Mr. Robert Sandler shares that the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History invited he and 15 of his AP US History students to attend the Lincoln Book Prize at the Harvard Club on April 14th! The students loved hearing the the award winning historian Caroline E. Janney talk about her new book, Ends of War: The Unfinished Fight of Lee’s Army after Appomattox (she won $50,000!) They asked thoughtful questions during the Q&A and each received an autographed copy of her book! They also met David Blight, the Pulitzer Prize winning biographer of Frederick Douglass! The students had a great time! (photos courtesy of Mr. Sandler)
