Ms. Rebecca Lindemulder shares that she and Mr. Dylan Gunder took a trip this weekend in which they and four German students were able to participate in at Estes Park, Colorado.
The Goethe-Institut has been holding an annual PASCH-Triathlon for all of their partner schools in the U.S., Mexico and Canada for the past three years. As Stuyvesant became a PASCH school in 2017, the Goethe-Institut invited four Stuyvesant students to participate in the event once again this year. The activities are held at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, CO and give the students the opportunity to meet and collaborate with the students from the other PASCH-schools in a quiz game, an obstacle course with German language activities and some STEM/building activities in German. The students formed teams of four and competed against each other for points in this ‘triathlon’ competition. Highlights of the trip were the great elk walking around the campus and a hike up into the mountains on the campus of the YMCA with fabulous views out over the Rockies. This was a great weekend of practicing German and building friendships among the Stuy students and with the other schools.
