Ms. Chu's Painting class exhibit Magritte-inspired surrealism

You may have noticed the beautiful surrealist paintings posted around the building! Ms. Jeannie Chu shares that they were inspired by Surrealist artist Rene Magritte’s work, students juxtaposed (illogically) and placed everyday objects, persons and/or places in unusual contexts to inspire new thought. Students applied synectic triggers, stretching their creativity, and then built form with transitions of value and established tone to unify their representational Surrealist paintings. Enjoy!
