For Professional Development Day in January, Mr. Harold Stephan was invited by Berklee College of Music to present as part of the Office of Arts and Projects Citywide Professional Learning for Music Teachers. Ms. Liliya Shamazov also helped facilitate this event!! The theme for the day was "Students at the Center, Music at the Heart: Skill Building Reframed".
Mr. Stephan shared how he uses Berklee PULSE to teach music theory to students here at Stuyvesant, in the context of a larger presentation around the documentary film Take Me To The River New Orleans, directed by Martin Shore (photos and videos here / Note, names of the presenters are included in the screenshot from LinkedIn)

The film has since expanded into a full Education Initiative, with curriculums based on the documentary’s historical themes and messages being taught in schools nationwide.
