Mr. Robert Sandler’s Jewish History class toured Hasidic Willamsburg with Frieda Vizel this past Wednesday. He shares it was fascinating to walk through the ultra-orthodox neighborhood and learn about Jewish culture during the holiday of Sukkot. Frieda, who until a couple of years ago was a member of the Satmar community explained how this sect survived the Holocaust and rebuilt their community after the war in Brooklyn. Click here for an article that highlights Frieda.
