Mr. Robert Sandler shares photos from his Jewish history trip last week. They visited the Henry Street settlement, with the historian on site who gave a tour of the historic townhouse and taught about Lillian Wald‘s leadership in the settlement house movement. They also toured the Bialystok, Eldridge Street and Greek Synagogues, the Yiddish Forward and ate at Katz’s Deli. The students really enjoyed learning about Jewish life during the Gilded Age from immigration to socialism to Jewish gangsters and anarchists.
