Mr. Robert Sandler contributes that this week, his Jewish History class listened to Chaim Levin tell his father Benjamin Levin’s dramatic story of fighting as a partisan in Lithuania during WWII. Ben, a 17-year-old at the time, was part of a Jewish resistance group called the Avengers who destroyed Nazi railroads, trains and killed over two hundred German & Lithuanian soldiers. Ben was interviewed by Steven Spielberg as part of the Shoah Project and has also been honored at the White House. The class loved meeting the last living partisan in the United States. You can read about Ben in The New York Post HERE.
