Students in Mr. Hanna’s Spanish Civil War elective course went on a field trip to see the Federico Garcia Lorca / Harlem Renaissance mural at Lafayette & Canal. Mr. Hanna read poems by Garcia Lorca to the class.. Then they walked to Greenwich Village to NYU, to conduct research in the Abraham Lincoln Brigade Archives held there. They finished the day eating lunch in the dining hall with NYU students in Weinstein Hall, getting to experience a slice of college life. Parents Melissa Rutkin, Aaron Rosenfeld, and Maria Binyaminova helped chaperone the field trip.
