Mr. Hanna's Participation in Government class, a great group, had a guided tour of the building built between 1803-1812, designed by French architect Joseph Francois Mangin. The style of the exterior of the building evokes the Chateau of Versailles, but the interior is inspired by neo Classical styles. They visited the central rotunda which features an interior dome modeled on the Pantheon in Rome. They also toured the chambers of the NYC Council (which was not in session).
