Mathematical Modeling at Stuy Interest Meeting

Mathematical Modeling at Stuy Interest Meeting

Interested in applying math to the real world? Enjoy working collaboratively to tackle complex problems? Then come to Thursday’s interest meeting for Stuy’s Mathematical Modeling Group. We’ll talk about the kinds of problems mathematical modelers solve – from making high-powered computing more environmentally friendly to making global sports leagues that are efficient and inclusive – and the modeling competitions we participate in throughout the year.

You’ll also hear from some of Stuy’s successful modelers and get some insight into how they finished in the top ten in world last year!

We’ll hold two meetings on Thursday, 9/25: In room 435 during 10th period and in room 401 after 10th. Interested students need only attend one meeting. You can also contact Mr. Honner in the mathematics department for more information.
