Mathematical Modeling at Stuy Interest Meeting

Mathematical Modeling at Stuy Interest Meeting

Interested in applying math to the real world? Enjoy working collaboratively to tackle complex problems? Then come to an interest meeting for Stuy’s Mathematical Modeling Group this week! We’ll talk about the kinds of problems mathematical modelers solve – from projecting the financial impact of online sports gambling on society to making high-powered computing centers more environmentally friendly – and the modeling competitions we participate in throughout the year.

You’ll also hear from some of Stuy’s successful modelers and learn about some of their incredible accomplishments, like finishing in the top eleven in world last year!

We’ll hold two meetings this week: Tuesday, 9/22 and Wednesday, 9/23. Both meetings will be held in room 404 after 10th period. You can also contact Mr. Honner in the mathematics department for more information.
