Treehouse Shakers Branching OUT Program See flyer Treehouse Shakers’ Branching OUT school program is for ages 12-14, and centers on discovering and exploring one’s story and identity through an intentionally artist-led format. This awarded program is for young people who identify as LGBTQIA+ or are seeking to become better allies. During our community-based program, young people will learn about important LGBTQIA+ leaders and artists in history, while exploring and reflecting on their own story to create a larger, more meaningful experience. Through the guidance of our awarded teaching artists, young people will create narratives that will be turned into scenes, podcasts, dances, songs or poetry. This program focuses on self-empowerment while gathering with like-minded peers. Young people learn new art forms, work with professional artists, while building a meaningful community.
Branching OUT is 6-10 sessions, In-school or After-School Availability, Sliding Scale, Staff Developments available, and additional matched funding available for qualifying schools. For more information please email contactus@treehouseshakers.com or Call Us at 212-715-1914 Ext. 2.

If this is something you are interested in, please register!

CAMBA’s LGBTQ+ Education and Acceptance Project (LEAP) is looking for LGBTQ+ identifying youth ages 18-21 to attend an online focus group. A focus group is where we bring together a group of people to provide feedback and guidance on services before they are launched; in this specific focus group we will be asking for opinions on our upcoming social marketing campaign that aims to promote family acceptance of queer and trans youth. These conversations will include discussion on coming-out stories and experiences and navigating being openly queer or not to both family and the community.
