<p>Join us for the second annual BIPOC @ Specialized Youth Summit on May 18, 2024, from 9:30am to 3:30pm.</p><p><b>Our second annual BIPOC Youth Summit is focused on student mattering.</b> <i>Mattering is feeling valued at your core; it’s a deep need we all have to be seen and cared for. The more we feel valued, the more likely we are to add value to others and the world, a critical component to mattering.</i></p><p>This day will give space to our Black and Latinx students and families to share experiences being enrolled in our specialized schools. We will provide a safe space where you can hear the experiences from our current families as well as gain vital tools in managing being a BIPOC member within your specialized schools.</p><p>We will be providing separate workshops for both parents/guardians and students. Translation will be available in Spanish.</p><p>Our workshops will include issues such as:</p><ul><li>Addressing inequalities and coming together to help in constructing a protective and proactive community which involve peers, parents, and allies.</li><li>Discussing model cases of individuals successfully navigating difficult terrain.</li><li>Name / Identify issues / Incidents / Categories of conduct</li><li>Tool & Strategies to manage each day and plan for the next</li><li>Mentorship</li><li>Counseling - Benefits of professional services</li><li>Meditations / Yoga</li><li>Resources</li></ul><p>And MORE!</p><p>Our parent workshops will be accessible in both English and Spanish.</p><p>LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED – (dietary options can be indicated in the registration form)</p><p>Questions?
