The Congressional App Challenge is the most prestigious computer science competition for students in the United States, hosted by the House of Representatives and backed by leading universities and tech organizations. Each year, thousands of students nationwide build original apps to serve their communities, showcase their creativity, and earn national recognition.
Students can code any app, on any topic, for any platform, either solo or in teams. Top winners are honored at the #HouseOfCode celebration in Washington, D.C., have their work displayed in the U.S. Capitol and featured on House.gov, and receive additional perks like waived copyright fees and national recognition.
To learn more, sign up for a virtual informational session on Tuesday, October 7, at 8:00 PM, hosted by Stuyvesant senior Katherine Chang, winner of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge for NY-10 and current student Ambassador for the 2025 cycle. She’ll share her experience creating her winning app EcoGuardian, walk through the submission process, and answer questions.
