Japanese classes have special visit!

Ms. Chie Helinski shares that on March 27, eight students who are winners of the speech and essay contests sponsored by the United Nations Association of Japan visited the Year 3 and AP Japanese students. The students ranged from 7th grade to 12th grade and are from all over Japan.

Our students had a chance to talk to them in small groups. Some groups talked about anime while others talked about sports and daily life, etc.. The conversation was lively, and there were many smiling faces. The Stuy students were surprised at how much Japanese they could speak and understand. It was such a fun way to boost their confidence. When the period was over, many exchanged their social media accounts.
