Join Friends of the Bloomingdale Inclusive Park and Playground for a tour of the playground and park design and equipment, along with Wheelchair Basketball, children's games, planting, arts and crafts and activities. "It's Our Park Day" at the Bloomingdale Inclusive Park and Playground located at the Bloomingdale School P.S. 145 and West Prep Academy. Park entrance is on the corner of West 104 Street and Amsterdam Avenue. The rain date is on Sunday, December 5.
Part of the NYC Mayor's Community Parks Initiative, the redesign of Bloomingdale Playground has been hailed as the "gold standard" for accessibility and inclusiveness in the city. The universally accessible playground was inspired by the spectrum of human ability and the idea that mobility and perception of all kinds are extendable by use of visual, auditory and mechanical devices.
