In December 2021, we administered the Authentic Connections student survey to learn more about student well-being and mental health. The survey was a science-based questionnaire about the experiences as a student to assess measures of well-being (i.e., anxiety, depression), and modifiable aspects of student life most relevant to the current climate (i.e., feelings of connectedness, learning efficacy). When we administered the survey in December, we asked students to complete the survey at home, which took approximately 30-45 minutes to complete on average. Unfortunately, after the initial data analysis, it was determined that our sample size was too small for scientific validity/reliability of the data.
Consequently, we want to readminister a shorter version of the student survey on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, during school. We will follow a special 20 minute Homeroom bell schedule so students have approximately 20 minutes to complete the survey (which should only take about 15 minutes on average). We will provide directions and the survey link to students the morning of June 14, 2022, so students can complete the survey on their smartphone. Computers will be available on each floor if necessary for those students who may need a device. The survey may be completed on a smartphone or tablet. Staff role is to supervise the Homeroom for the duration of the 20 minutes.
We encourage all students to complete the survey so we can make improvements to overall student experience. However, if the student does not wish to participate, then they do not have to complete the survey--they can simply ignore the link.
The special Homeroom schedule is below:
