Ms. Chie Helinski shares from the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS) at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS)
Students are invited to an upcoming event featuring Mary Popeo, co-founder and business director of Peace Culture Village (PCV) in Hiroshima. Ms. Popeo utilizes innovative technology to promote nuclear disarmament through Hibakusha (atomic bombing survivors) testimonials. The event will include interactive activities as well as breakout sessions, giving students a chance to actively engage in dialogue on these important issues.
CIF is the disarmament education project for high school students from around the world. The project aims to empower high school students and help them grow into individuals who can contribute to international peace and security, disarmament as well as other social justice issues. CIF has been expanding the discussion of such vital global issues, along with promoting the development of critical thinking skills through educational outreach activities.
