<p>Coach <strong>Silvana Choy</strong> shares, <strong>the Girls Swimming and Diving Team</strong> <strong>won the "A" Championship</strong> competition that was held on November 3rd and 4th. High schools from all 5 boroughs competed, and Stuyvesant HS had a combined score of 366 points. Stuyvesant beat 2nd place team, Brooklyn Tech by 130 points.</p>
<p>In addition, <strong>7 Stuyvesant girls qualified for New York State Championships</strong> that will be held in Ithaca on November 15-17. Congratulations to <strong>Arielle Aney, Joline Fong, Eliza Knapp, Emma Lee, Natasha Moeslinger, </strong>and<strong> Mayumi Schaepers-Cheu, </strong>who qualified in swimming events, and <strong>Stella Oh</strong> qualified for the 1-meter diving event.</p>
<p>Congratulations to <strong>Arielle Aney, Mayumi Schaepers-Cheu, Natasha Moeslinger, </strong>and<strong> Emma Lee</strong>, who will be representing the 400-freestyle relay at States!! They <strong>broke the meet record and the PSAL record </strong>at A Championships!</p>
<p><strong>Mayumi Schaepers-Cheu placed 1<sup>st</sup></strong> in the 500 free and <strong>broke the meet record</strong> at A Championships. She was <strong>awarded the April Lao Memorial Award for Outstanding Rookie Swimmer</strong>. The award was presented to her by the PSAL Commissioner and the Lao family. It was very special for the team. Brava, Mayumi!!</p>
