On October 10th Ms. Lindemulder´s German students had the opportunity to meet with Roman Weidenfeller, a retired professional soccer player from the team Borussia Dortmund and the 2014 national team. Students learned about the history of the Borussia Dortmund team, the passion of its fans and about their star goalie, Roman Weidenfeller, before three AP German students, James Clare, Maxim Argat and Natalie Kim, interviewed Mr. Weidenfeller with questions gathered from the audience prior to the event. Students asked Mr. Weidenfeller what it takes to make it so far in a field you are passionate about, his high and low points in his professional soccer career, and about the differences between professional sports in the US and Germany. Afterwards, Mr. Weidenfeller signed autographs and took pictures with the students. It was a really special experience! See a full size photo collage here.
